Can I just say

They really should list parenting as one of the hardest jobs anyone can have.  My husband went to a convention on Monday @4AM.  Just about 6 AM my youngest woke up coughing hard.  The kind of cough that sounds like it hurts~bad.  Next thing you know, she has hives all over her forehead.  Out comes the Benadryl.  Then she sleeps.  Sleeping had her waking with a deeper cough and now a fever~YIKES.  So I had an all night watch since she in prone to Pneumonia.  It was a long rough night.  The next day I bring her to the Dr and they tell me to be very careful of the breathing and to do Neb treatments every 4 hours (yes that means through the night too).  We go the next day back to the Dr and I am told I have to keep up the schedule all weekend.  I hurt I am so tired.

So no creativity even though I have some really cool stuff to work with and some swaps to get done.

I just wanted to share my tiredness a little and let you all know why I have been missing.  Hopefuly the weekend will provide some rest ~ notw that I have my husband back ~ unless it snows as they are predicting.  I hope to have somethign spectacular to upload~LOL!!!

More CHF

I have been enjoying giving my CHF stamps some love.  I recently purchased a case so I can keep them all together and handy.  Since I had them out, I started playing with them.  You know how it goes RIGHT????

Distressed_hope

I bought the HOPE stamp for my daughter.  She loves everything Asian.  I thought since I was getting her that I would buy the matching backgrounder.  They worked well with the Old World Stack from DCWV.  I distressed the background with Distress Ink (Old Paper) and VersaMagic (Pink Petunia).  That gorgeous ribbon is May Arts.

With_sympathy

The flower and sentiment came from Sihouette Stems (also CHF).  The paper is from the same stack and that ribbon is again May Arts.  I do have to point out the spectacular Backgrounder here though.  I saw this stamp first over at Keri Sereika's blog.  I fell in love and needed to buy it immediately.  Trust me, you gotta get it~It Rocks!!!

This card I made for a girlfriend's Mom ho recently had to put thier dog down.  He was old and very very ill.  It broke thier hearts to do it too.  My heart ached for them and I though this card worked well to express my feelings.  WHat do you think.

Anyway, Dave goes to Vegas of business (yeah right) tomorrow, so I will be getting much more time in the room.  I hope to post more soon.

Naughty Kitty

Well we have another new kitty.  His name is Emmett and he is a super fresh little guy.  He was a stray from my husband's shop in the city (small city).  The vet says he is around a little under one, but I really did not need him to tell us that.  He is into EVERYTHING!  Especially at night.  He has taken to using my large plants as a littler box YUCK and often likes to play with the girls feet in the middle of the night.  It is really a good thing he is so cute.  So anyway, I was playing with stamps that I have either not played with yet or ones that have not seen ink for a while and I came across this one from CHF:

Cosmo_kitty

He totally makes me think of our fresh furry little friend. The stamp is even called "Naughty Kitty"  How appropriate is that?  I used my new Cosmo Cricket pack that I got from QVC (a guilty habbit of mine).  I now am going to send this to a girlfriend that is also a "naughty little kitty" :)

Unconventional Valentine

Funny thing.  I am a member of the design team for ASB's Stamping Team.  This month we did a nonconventional Valentine (you know, not pink or red).  They also had is as this weeks Challenge at SCS.  Talk about great minds.  Anyway, here was mine:

Hugs

I chose one of my favorite images by the super talented Janie Miller over at Inky Antics.  I used a base card of SU's in color blue(don't know the name off hand).  I had these great PP from a pack of reminants I got at a LSS.  They all went perfectly together.  The topping was the May Arts ribbon I got from one of Jody's awesome swaps.  I think it came out fun. I know Dave is gonna like it.  Now I have to fill it with his annual batch of coupons.

It is so hard to believe all the devestation in the south.  My prayers are with them all!

I finally broke down and ordered some Hannah stamps.  I was dragging my feet not really sure if I liked them or not.  Well, I love them.  they color easy, stamp awesome and are very versatile.

This one I created for a friend that was in the process of buying a house.  She had convinced herself in the time she was at my house watching the ball game that she "had to have it".  It was perfect!

Chickens

I made these for my special friends over at Inky Antics.  I had started doing a monthly challenge, then fell off the planet.  So like me!!!!  ANyway, I surprised them all with this new challenge packet!  I can not wait to see what they make.  they all ROCK!!!

A CHallenge from Prism Papers

One of my friends Keri Sereika recently became a designer for Prism Papers.  No doubt on that one.  SHe is super, super talented.  Anyway, I followed the link on her blog and checked them out today.  THey had this great inspiration challenge there.  I loved the colors, but more so loved the stripes.  I love stripes.  So I wanted to play.  Here she is:

3ofus

Now I have to explain a few things here.  First, I would never do what has been done to those pictures.  That was my Grandma's doing.  I got this trio in the collection I have been handed to make books out of.  If you look close at my Mom's shirt, you will see the colors from the challenge~LOL!!!  SHe loved that shirt and wore it until it was waaaaaay out of style.  To bad we made her get rid of it...it is back in style now.(go figure).  I am the little one on the left (wasn't I so cute) and my sister is on the left.

The phrase "\Just the 3 of Us" has been something that we have said forever.  It almost always was.  My parents divorced when I was 3 and my Mom did not remarry until I was 18.  It really was just us 3 ~in good and bad!

I love how this came out and can not ait to put it in my book ~no one else can have it in thiers.  It certainly isn't of Keri Kalibur, but I still am happy with it.

Finally Finding Time

To post that is.  I went to Bretton Woods ski area this weekend with the family.  Dave really wanted me to learn to ski.  So off I went to take lessons to snowboard.  Not only do I totally stink at it, I came home sprained and bruised.  I got taken down by a girl next to me on the lift. BAD!!!!

So next time I shall try skiing.  Should I bve horrible at that too, Dave will have to just get over it. It has been stinky not having total use of my right hand!

I have been being creative though.  Actually I have been very busy in the room.

Dating_advice_2

I made this card for a friend that is just re-joining the dating scene.  Poor thing~I hate that.  Anyway, the stamp is from the new Ronnie collection over at Inky Antics.  The saying is also an inky stamp.  The paper came from a Stack I have.  Doncha love it!(said in best Mn accent).

Hllo

This came from the sketch challenge over at ASB.  Trudy posts some pretty awesome challenges over there.

Simple_thoughts

This is actiually a card~LOL!!!  I challenged folks to use white for my color challenge.  I did not think about the fact that it might be hard to picture~Losa'!  It is a full sized card with the stamped image on the bottom right.  Can you picture it??????????

Thank_you_flowers

This was just for fun.  I am not sure if I like it or not. Hmmmmm.

Well, I have been actively working on scrapping.  I made a cuttie blank book for a girlfriend that just had a baby.  I will upload it when I can find my card reader.

Thanx for stopping by, and I will try to be back when my wrist starts feeling better.

Time Capsule

As a member of the Scrapbooking Team at ASB I had to work on a Time Capsule for your first posting.  We were each allowed to take the theme and see what we felt was the best personal interpritation.  I personally though it best to do a "year in the life of" type thing.  I had a beautiful acordian book from CTMH and thought it was the best for the project.  I took pictures of some of the most important things in my families time of 2007.  Because it was a small book I stuck to the things in my household!

I am still going to put a list of the "big" events of the year on the back.  I just have not completed the list yet.  I don't think I will finish it until the year is actually over.  That way I do not miss anything.

Hope you enjoyed looking into my life a little.

Back by gentle request

Life has been a little much lately.  As a result I have seriously neglected the blog.  I went to KS to visit Jenn and had a super time.  Unfortunately I came back with the airplane plague.  Towards the end of that I did something super bad to my back.  So bad I ended up on drugs and lost in a sea of ouch.  Add that to the good things, like Christmas coming (shopping and cards done), my Mom is visiting before her cross country journey with Tony, being named to not one, but 2 deesign teams at ASB as well as continuing with my challenge team position.  Just crazy!!!!

Well, today I finished a project that I have been working tirelessly on. Dawn's album is done.  Since she is so super old and all~LOL!!! I could not fit her whole life in one book.  Technically Book One is done.  I am so excited, I figured I needed to share some of the highlighs with you.

Img_0973_edited

Aren't we cute.  It amazes me looking at these photos how much my girls look like I did at thier age.

Img_1092_edited

This is the final page in the book.  I wanted it to be very special and let her know how much I really love and treasure her, without being too sappy!

Img_1095_edited

This was the day she graduated from Emerson College.  I was not able to be there as I was 2 days away from delivering my fist child.  I though downtown Boston was not the best place for a huge pregnant lady~LOL!!!  I was at her graduation from Suffock Law though.  I need to find those photos so I can make a matching page for it!

Img_1117

This is the front cover.  I have always loved that pic of her.  Her eyes are just so huge and innocent.

Well, I hope you liked the sneak peek.  I did not scan any of my Christmas cards this year.  I wanted them to be a special surprise to my special friends and family ;).  I have been making general stuff though, so I have plenty to post.  Hopefully I don't need to be reminded to get my fanny over here and post.

HUGS, LOVE AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Hi Again!!!

It has been a while again.  Life has been a little crazy.  Thursday of this week I will e travelling to visit my friend Jenn in Kansas.  We have been chatting for a while and met in person at Seminar this summer.  She has become a good friend and is needing a little cheering up.  So, I am taking a long weekend and visiting her. Dave just came home from a trip for business ~ we really missed him!!!  Alyssa has been super busy with school and Abbie has been growing like a weed.  It is hard to keep up.

I did have a wonderful email from a lady I met through stamping~Alison.  She took a big leap and emailed me out of the blue and asked that we get together.  I am super glad she did too.  She is a very talented papercrafter and is a lot of fun to be around.  I look forward to keeping in touch and getting together with her more often. I hope I had as much fun getting together with her as she did with me~LOL!!!

I have been actively working on my scrapbook for Dawn.  I hope she will like it.  So far I have a whole book filled and have had to add more pages.  I love how it is going and the wonderful memories that it rings to life again.  I am not going to bore you with details but am going to share some of my favorites with you!
